Karlijn schreef 2 maanden geleden een brief naar Koningin Elizabeth, als onderdeel van een project van school waar iedereen een brief mocht schrijven naar een zelf gekozen beroemderik. Het lange wachten werd vandaag eindelijk beloond met een brief van Sandringham House, the country retreat van de koningin. Natuurlijk is het moeilijk voor Her Majesty om naar elk van haar 61 miljoen onderdanen een brief te schrijven, dus werd het harde werk verricht door haar Lady-in-Waiting Lady Elton.
Ze schreef het volgende;
Dear Karlijn,
The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for your letter with the photographs you included for Her Majesty to see.
The Queen thought it was very kind of you to write and tell her about your interests, friends and birthdayplans and, although unable to reply to you personally, Her Majesty was pleased to hear about your school trip to the CYE Sailing Centre which you enjoyed so much.
I hope that you had a lovely birthday on 27th November, and I am enclosing a double-sided portrait of The Queen which you may like to have.
